About Pilates

Pilates is a rejuvenating practice that improves posture and alignment by conditioning the body and bringing awareness to the core (the deep abdominal and back muscles). Pilates unique ability to activate the body’s supportive musculature, dynamically stabilizes the spinal column and pelvis structure, helping clients to alleviate physical discomfort and improve functional movement. Clients experience improved strength, posture, and quality of life.
The History of Joseph Pilates

Joseph Pilates was born in Germany in 1883. His father was a gymnast and his mother was a naturopath. Joseph was a sickly child with asthma and rickets. To better his health and overcome his physical adversity he began studying anatomy and practicing martial arts, wrestling, gymnastics, and bodybuilding. By 14 he had developed his strength and muscles and was modeling for anatomy charts.

Hello, I am Helen.
Pilates is my particular passion, having enjoyed a personal practice since 2002, and teaching Pilates to all ages & conditions since 2016. I grew up, and continue to live in the DFW area with my husband. When time allows, I love to read, spend time with friends and family, and travel.
